We have an excellent cooperation and friendship on the political level, however, the important issue is whether we can do business together. The Bulgarian business is looking far beyond the borders of our country, the Bulgarian companies are competitive and ambitious. Bulgaria offers very good conditions for the Mongolian business – low costs and a strategic location, which ensures quick access to big markets on two continents. This is what Head of State Rosen Plevneliev said in Ulan Bator, where a joint Mongolian-Bulgarian business forum was held, attended by almost 100 representatives of the business circles in the two countries. Prime Minister of Mongolia Chimed Saikhanbileg also took part in the forum, who changed his progam in order to encourage the contacts between the Bulgarian and Mongolian companies.
Bulgaria and Mongolia have already launched the first pilot projects, among which is the project on a transport oversight system in the Asian country, initiated by one of the renowned Bulgarian companies in the ICT sector, the President emphasized. Rosen Plevneliev encouraged the Bulgarian companies from the branch to get into the Mongolian market, where the government seeks support and in sectors such as data base management, the creation of online platforms, providing e-services and others.
Before representatives of the Mongolian business, the Head of State highlighted the experience the Bulgarian companies have in mining and the extraction of ores and minerals. In President Plevneliev’s view, the Bulgarian mining companies have the opportunity to expand their activities in Mongolia, which has considerable natural resources.
Another sector which has the potential to strengthen the economic ties is energy and renewable energy sources. Bulgaria is also a traditional producer of medicines and cosmetic products, Rosen Plevneliev said.
The Bulgarian companies enjoy an excellent reputation in the agriculture and food production sectors, the Head of State said. “We can efficiently produce food together and sell our production in markets in third countries. Mongolia shows an interest in the construction of greenhouses with the help of Bulgaria, which means fulfilling the agreement signed during President Plevneliev’s state visit.
Prime Minister of Mongolia Chimed Saikhanbileg highlighted the high-tech sector, the production of pharmaceutical products and agriculture as the sectors which provide the greatest opportunities for companies from the two countries to do business.
