The President: the Cooperation between China and the Central and East-European Countries Provides a Great Opportunity for the Development of the Region

“The initiative for cooperation between China and the Central and East-European Countries, the so-called 16+1 format, provides a great opportunity for cooperation and development of the region.” This is what President Rosen Plevneliev said, who attended the presentation of the book “The Chinese Dream” made by the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping. The Head of State expects that our country will be active and will implement projects under the initiative.

The President said China is Bulgaria’s great friend and most important partner in Asia and pointed out that the trade between the two countries has exceeded 1.8 billion US dollars in the past years. As an EU member state, Bulgaria actively supports the strengthening of the all-embracing strategic partnership between the EU and the People’s Republic of China, President Rosen Plevneliev further emphasized.

President (22 January 1997–22 January 2002) Petar Stoyanov, Assembly deputies, diplomats and public figures attended the presentation of the book in Sofia Hotel Balkan.
