2014-02-25 17:23:00

In the talks he held with President Rosen Plevneliev, Milo Djukanovic, prime minister of Montenegro, invited the Bulgarian business circles to invest in Monte Negro.  The two held talks on the first day of the official visit of the Bulgarian Head of State to Montenegro.

Prime Minister Djukanovic highlighted the country’s active work done in the priority sectors of infrastructure, tourism and energy. Montenegro intends to actively cooperate with Sofia and the embassy of the country opened for the first time in the Bulgarian capital is a proof of that, Milo Djukanovic emphasized. He also called on the Joint Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation to work more actively.

The talks between Rosen Plevneliev and Milo Djukanovic also focused on the opportunities for more cohesion in the region. Montenegro is working for improving the road infrastructure along the routes of the trans-European transport corridors to Serbia and to Central Europe, Djukanovic said.

President Rosen Plevneliev further added that the contacts between the people from the two countries should be encouraged, as well as those in the sphere of culture. According to the Head of State, this process may be strengthened if an Agreement for Cooperation in this sphere is signed, which is currently negotiated.

Rosen Plevneliev also held talks with Parliament Speaker Ranko Krivokapic. They discussed Montenegro’s support for transforming the Regional Secretariat for parliamentary cooperation in South-Eastern Europe in a Permanent Secretariat of PACE of the Process for cooperation in South-Eastern Europe with headquarters in Sofia.
