The President Expects that a Bulgarian Project on China’s Initiative For Central and East Europe Will Be Launched This Year

2014-01-13 10:11:00

Many doors in China are open for Bulgaria, even only due to the fact that 65 years ago our country had the vision and the courage to support the establishment of the People’s Republic of China.  This is how President Rosen Plevneliev commented the expectations of the forthcoming political talks in the Chinese capital Beijing to be held on 13 and 14 January. Today the Bulgarian President will hold talks with Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China and on 14 January with Prime Minister Li Keqiang and Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee.

China is a very dynamic market and has a considerable potential for Bulgarian products and services, Rosen Plevneliev emphasized.  He highly appreciated the concrete mechanism for supporting projects offered by China to the Central and East European Countries, which is worth 10 billion US dollars.  “This means that we are lending a hand. However, the Bulgarian institutions should prepare high-quality projects. I am sure that in 2014 concrete agreements will be signed and at least one project will be launched under the model of the public-private partnership within China’s Initiative for Cooperation with the Central and East European countries,” Rosen Plevneliev commented. In his words, the work of the institutions in the next months will determine what the project will be.

“In the past 35 years China has set an example of a transformation unobserved so far to one of the leading countries in the sphere of technologies and the country clearly shows their future,” President Rosen Plevneliev commented after visiting the demonstration technological center of the high-tech zone Junguantsun in the Chinese capital. The President voiced his conviction that Bulgaria and China will encourage their mutual cooperation in the sphere of high technologies and the delegation led by the Head of State which includes the chief of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and representatives of many innovative Bulgarian technological companies will contribute to this cooperation.

In the high-tech demonstration zone Junguantsun in Beijing the President got acquainted with the activity of leading Chinese technological companies in the sphere of information technologies, the production of personal computers and 3D printers, the aerospace sector, green technologies, the energy sector, bio-medicine, new materials and the rising industries. Junguantsun is the biggest Chinese technological park, located on an area of almost 490 square kilometers.

At an official ceremony today President Rosen Plevneliev will be welcomed by Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China. After the official talks between the delegations are held, a joint official statement will be released for establishing a comprehensive friendly partnership and cooperation between the Republic of Bulgaria and the People’s Republic of China. A lot of bilateral documents will also be signed.
