“The Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization should increase its efficiency and become powerful enough so as to change the direction toward a real policy of internal regional cooperation.” This is what Vice-president Iliana Yotova said, who took part in the summit dedicated to marking the 25th anniversary since BSEC was established in Istanbul. The forum was attended by the presidents and prime ministers of Moldova, Greece, the Russian Federation, Romania, Georgia and Turkey.

The language, alphabet and faith have united and will continue to unite our people. A small book written by a monk did something great – it raised the self-awareness of a whole people; so as to preserve it and take it to the present day. This is what Iliana Yotova said in the Bulgarian exarchate in Istanbul. The Vice-president is visiting the city on the occasion of marking 24 May – the day of the Bulgarian education and culture and of the Slavic script. She met more than 200 representatives of the Bulgarian community in Turkey, including students from the Bulgarian Sunday school in Istanbul.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary since diplomatic relations were established between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan, Vice-president Yotova gave a letter to President Ilham Aliyev from the Bulgarian Head of State Rumen Radev extending the warmest greetings and wishes. Iliana Yotova voiced her conviction that the bilateral cooperation between the two countries will deepen.
