Pursuing the policy of “the great powers and the periphery” is extremely dangerous and may provoke a long-lasting destabilization of Ukraine and Europe, President Rosen Plevneliev told Bloomberg. Bulgaria will continue supporting the mission of UNICEF for the replacement the specialized institutions for bringing up children with the establishment of a network of services which will make it possible for them to grow up in an environment close to the family environment, President Rosen Plevneliev said at a meeting held with Anthony Lake, executive director of UNICEF.

Bulgaria and Egypt will strengthen their bilateral cooperation by means of effectuating more joint projects. This is the position embraced by President Plevneliev and the President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who held talks at UN Headquarters. It was underscored at the meeting that the two countries share a common vision regarding the necessity for modernization and attracting more investments in key sectors, such as the management of water resources, transport infrastructure and energy development.

Manifestations of xenophobia and anti-Semitism in Europe cannot be tolerated and need to be condemned by the institutions and the civil society. This is what President Rosen Plevneliev declared before journalists, after he met in New York with representatives of Jewish organizations in the USA. The President underscored that it is inadmissible to use “hate language” and extreme nationalistic rhetoric by political parties in EU Member States.
