The European Commission is Bulgaria’s loyal partner within the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism and objectively shows the problems we are facing. This is what President Rosen Plevneliev told the representatives of the Bulgarian media in Brussels after he took part in the conference of the Center for European Policy Studies as a keynote speaker on the topic of “The rule of law in the EU.”

Bulgaria is ready to contribute with concrete ideas and projects to creating a regional energy union, President Rosen Plevneliev said regarding the Strategy for a European Energy Union proposed by the European Commission. After the meeting he held with Jean-Claude Juncker, president of the European Commission, the Head of State said that the fact that the strategy targets the region of Southeast Europe is a positive sign.

At a meeting held with President Rosen Plevneliev, representatives of the Bulgarian minority in Romania requested programs for studying Bulgarian and sending more Bulgarian teachers. Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov and Nikolae Mirkovici, MP from the Union of the Banat Bulgarians in the Romanian parliament took part in the meeting held on Friday evening.
