The Head of State Rosen Plevneliev expects 2015 to be one of hard work, of meaningful endeavours, of much less confrontation and of more political accord. The President made his first statement before journalists after he took part in the ritual for consecration of the military flags and the sacred banners of the Bulgarian army in front of the monument to the Unknown soldier in the capital.

The language of hatred is frequently used, yet it should not be tolerated, President Rosen Plevneliev said in the Sofia Synagogue, where he traditionally greets the Jewish community on the occasion of the Festival of Lights. The Head of State lit the main candle of Hanukkah whereby he conveyed the message of peace and understanding, of tolerance and humanism.

The Head of State Rosen Plevneliev, who received Nguyen Thi Doan, Vice-president of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, forecast an increase of the Bulgarian investments in Vietnam in the following years. The Bulgarian business circles have an interest in investing in the processing of oils, in pharmacy and cosmetics, the food industry, the manufacture of tobacco products, wine-production, as well as in the defense and defense technology sectors, the president said.
