The international community should focus on achieving results related to the sustainable development goals, among which are eradicating poverty, building a sustainable economy and developing peaceful and stable societies. This is what President Rosen Plevneliev called on for in the statement he made at the Summit on adopting the post-2015 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which took place in the UN headquarters in New York.

It is not possible for a European country to demonstrate irresponsibility and to expect European solidarity. Responsibility and solidarity go hand in hand. Bulgaria has already shown responsibility by strictly following European rules for accepting refugees and now expects European solidarity, declared the Head of State Rosen Plevneliev before students of the Gustav Heinemann School in Berlin, specializing in a course of politics. At their request the Bulgarian President received 11 German schoolchildren, with whom he exchanged views on topics of European concern and current world issues.

The hosting in 2016 of the next meeting of the presidents of the Arraiolos group is a historic achievement by Bulgaria and Bulgarian foreign policy. That is how Head of State Rosen Plevneliev defined the unanimous decision of the eleven EU member-states that Bulgaria is to host the next 2016 meeting.

Bulgaria will host the next meeting of the Arraiolos group, decided the presidents of the EU member states who are taking part. It was announced on the second day of the Eleventh meeting of the group which is being held in the German city of Erfurt.
