At a solemn ceremony in the oldest Korean university Sungkyunkwan in Seoul Head of State Rosen Plevneliev was awarded the honorary title Doctor Honoris Causa in public administration of the prestigious university. In the almost 60-year-old history of the university, the honorary title was conferred to a head of state for a second time.

Bulgaria and South Korea raised the level of their cooperation today, whereby they opened a new chapter and a new stage in the development of the bilateral relations, which have a 25-year-old history. This is what President Rosen Plevneliev told journalists in Seoul on the occasion of the joint declaration on a comprehensive and directed to the future partnership signed earlier today by the presidents of Bulgaria and South Korea. The President summarized the results of the talks held with President Park Geun-hye and representatives of the Korean government.

Head of State Rosen Plevneliev and President of Korea Park Geun-hye signed a joint declaration on a comprehensive and oriented to the future partnership in Seoul within the framework of the Bulgarian President’s official visit to the Asian country. The visit coincides with the 25th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Korea.
