Today by adding every piece of a new fence, by imposing mutual blockades of borders, by erecting razor-wire fences, by using water cannons and tear gas against the refugees, moreover in the heart of Europe, the EU is standing against its own rules, against its own values and identity. This is what President Rosen Plevneliev said, who opened a top-level meeting “New Visions of Partnership and Good-neighborly Relations in the Balkans” in Sofia. Current and former state and government leaders from the region are attending the conference, under the auspices of the Head of State, organized by the “Center for Political Dialogue Petar Stoyanov” and the International center “Nizami Gandjavi.”

Bulgaria is a factor ensuring stability in the Balkans and we pursue an active policy on assisting the development and strengthening the integration of the countries in the region. The future belongs to the regions and the trade relations between the Balkan countries are of key importance for Bulgaria. This is what Head of State Rosen Plevneliev said, who opened a joint business forum in Sofia, together with Albanian President Bujar Nishani.

"I call on all participants in the forthcoming election campaign to stick to positive messages. No election result can be justified if it is detrimental to public stability, to ethnic and religious tolerance. There are limits of public conduct that we do not have the right to cross", President appealed in an address to the People.
