Presidents Rosen Plevneliev and Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic voiced their resolution that Bulgaria and Croatia will work together to ensure stability, connectivity and development in the region. Bulgaria firmly supports the right of the Ukrainian people to alone choose its road of development, its will and desire to be part of the European family. Ukraine has always been and will be an integral part of Europe – a bridge between cultures and peoples, opening up new common horizons. “The news about the terror acts at the Zaventem airport and the metro in Brussels, which claimed the lives of innocent people and injured many, deeply shocked me and distressed me. The Republic of Bulgaria strongly condemns these acts of violence. Such acts, directed against peaceful citizens, can no way be justified.” This is what Head of State Rosen Plevneliev says in a letter of condolences to His Majesty Philippe, the King of the Belgians.

President Rosen Plevneliev awarded the Secretary of State of the Vatican Cardinal Pietro Parolin the Stara Planina order first class for his contribution to the development of the relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Holy See. At the solemn ceremony held at 2 Dondukov street the Head of State voiced his contentment with the visit of His Eminence and of a delegation of the Holy See in Bulgaria and said that these visits are a clear illustration of the friendly feelings and relations of mutual trust and cooperation between Bulgaria and the Vatican.
