Bulgaria Supports Moldova on its Path towards EU Integration

The Republic of Moldova remains resolute to continue its path towards EU integration and will put in huge efforts to meet the membership criteria in the next two years, no matter whether the EU is ready to accept new members. This is what Moldovan officials assured Head of State Rosen Plevneliev during the talks he held in Kishinev.

President Rosen Plevneliev confirmed Bulgaria’s consistent support for Moldova’s European integration. The Head of State, who is on an official visit to Moldova at the invitation of the country’s President Nikolae Timofti, voiced his contentment with the progress of the reforms in Moldova and defined them as “an encouraging signal that the process of the country’s EU Integration is irreversible.” Bulgaria will continue to share its experience in this direction, the Bulgarian President added at a joint news conference with his Moldovan counterpart in Kishinev.

Head of State Rosen Plevneliev congratulated Rumen Radev on his election for Bulgarian president after the end of the presidential elections on 13 November. The Head of State invited to his office at 2 Dondukov street the president elect and the two exchanged opinions on the current political situation in the country after the elections and after Prime Minister Boyko Borisov tendered the resignation of the government.
