The economic relations between Bulgaria and Belgium, and also the challenges Europe is facing were among the highlights of the meeting between President Rumen Radev and His Majesty the King of Belgians Philippe. The Head of State was granted audience within his working visit in Brussels.

President Rumen Radev received today at 2 Dondukov street the World-famous Israeli novelist, historian and politician Prof. Michael Bar-Zohar, who was born in Bulgaria. At the meeting the Head of State expressed gratitude for Prof. Michael Bar-Zohar’s contribution to the heroic narrative about the rescue of the Jewish community in Bulgaria during World War II.

The Balkan countries should clearly show their unity and political will to the European institutions for creating a South East European International Institute for Sustainable Technologies. The project will promote the process of European integration in our region in the areas of research, education and medicine and will create new prospects for the technological exchange and career development of young scholars. This is what President Rumen Radev said, who held a meeting with the members of the board of directors of the South East European International Institute for Sustainable Technologies at 2 Dondukov street today. The meeting was attended by ministers and deputy-ministers of education, science and technologies, and also by state secretaries of the Western Balkan countries and by leading European scholars working in CERN.

Bulgarian foreign policy should be open, based on principles and predictable so that it can win friends and partners in the world. This is what Head of State Rumen Radev said at the traditional reception for the leaders of the diplomatic missions accredited in Bulgaria. The President emphasized that Bulgarian foreign policy should be designed here, in Sofia, and thanked the ambassadors for their extremely fruitful activity and joint partnership in the development of the bilateral relations between the countries they represent and Bulgaria.
