Austria will take a positive stance on Bulgaria's accession to the Schengen area at the EU Justice and Home Affairs Council in October. This became clear after the meeting of President Rosen Plevneliev with his Austrian counterpart Heinz Fischer in Vienna. Austria considers that the framework and conditions for Schengen membership have been met by Bulgaria.
