Dr. Petar Kormushev has a number of scientific achievements in the areas of bio information technologies, semantic web, artificial intelligence and robotics.

Dimitar Zhechev has a Ph.D. degree in mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley.

Kuzman Ganchev has a Ph.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania. His sphere of choice was machine learning with linear models with application in computer linguistics.

Petar Popov received his Ph.D. degree from the A&M University of Texas.

Martin Vechev defended his doctoral degree in computer science at the University of Cambridge, England where he also worked as an assistant professor.

Petar Petrov defended his doctoral dissertation at the Computer Science and Engineering Faculty at University of California, San Diego.

Georgi Kuzmanov has a Ph.D. degree from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science of the Technical University in Delft, the Netherlands.

Hristo Kostadinov has a Ph.D. degree in coding theory from the University of Tokyo.

At the time of receiving the award Valentin Pavlov was the Vice-President of Rila Solutions - one of Bulgaria’s biggest software companies.

Svetlin Ivanov Nakov has a Ph.D. in Informatics from Sofia University, St. Kliment Ohridski. He participated for the second time in the competition, having finished second to his brother Preslav Nakov in 2003.

At the time when he received the award, Preslav Nakov was a Ph.D. student at the University of California, Berkeley, USA, in artificial Intelligence.
