Plamen Uzunov was born in 1972 in Plovdiv.

In 1990 he completed his secondary education in the National Trade High school in Plovdiv. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Counteracting Crime and Social Order Protection at the Interior Ministry Academy in Sofia.

In 2003 he received his master’s degree in law from Plovdiv University Paisii Hilendarski.

Later he specialized in ILEA in Budapest and in the Interior Ministry Academy.

In the period 1993-2015 he worked in the Interior Ministry structures in Plovdiv. He left the Interior Ministry at his own will and the last position he held was Director Ist degree and his last rank was Senior Commissioner from the Interior Ministry, Major General from the Reserves.

Since 2015 he has been a part-time lecturer in Criminology and Operational-Search Activity at the University of Security and Economics in Plovdiv.

He is member of the International Police Association.

He was appointed as the President’s Secretary on Legal Affairs and Anti-Corruption by virtue of decree No. 122 as of 9 May 2017. In the second term of President Rumen Radev he was appointed as Legal Affairs Secretary by President’s decree from 22 January 2022. By virtue of the President’s decree as of 3 July 2023, he was appointed as Legal Affairs Advisor.
